Holding a Lamp, Seeking Fire
觀音靈籤第10签
The history behind Guan Yin lots →Within the stone lies jade beyond all price,
Yet off you wander, seeking treasure in strange lands —
Like one who holds a lamp and still hunts for fire;
Better to gather up that wasted care and rest.
石藏无价玉和珍
只管他乡外客寻
宛如持灯更觅火
不如收拾枉劳心
Once things are settled, there is nothing more to arrange. Be satisfied with what you already have, and do not spend your energy chasing hopeless dreams; what is in front of you is real.
This lot points out that the treasure sought elsewhere is already in hand: your own talents and present circumstances hold what you need. Chasing distant fortunes or outside rescuers only spends the heart in vain.

Household matters look uncertain, though you remain safe, with some obstacles in gaining wealth and closing business deals. Marriage prospects are compatible, and a baby girl is expected, while the traveler is still on the way. Autumn is the best time for farming, pets are hard to raise, and a missing person is found even though lost items are hard to trace. The lawsuit brings losses, so avoid moving house for now, and pray urgently for good health.
So much restlessness comes from believing the good life is somewhere we are not. The lamp already in your hand (your abilities, your relationships, the conditions already present) may be the very fire you have been searching for. Before reaching for the next big change, could you spend a week appreciating and working with exactly what is in front of you?
