Chinese New Year (CNY) is one of the most important holidays in Chinese culture, when families gather, rekindle bonds, and usher in good fortune for the new year.
While not strictly a Buddhist festival, many Buddhist temples particularly in East Asian traditions (including Singapore) also celebrate this auspicious occasion, incorporating elements of CNY culture in their activities.
It is an opportunity to renew our spiritual commitments, set wholesome intentions for the new year, practise dana and share in the blessings of the dharma! Do check out these CNY events happening all over the island as we ring in the Year of the Snake!
